Susanville, California, the county seat of Lassen County, is located in the northeast corner of California, 85 miles northwest of Reno, Nevada, and 101 miles east of Red Bluff and Redding, CA, at the 4,250 foot elevation.

Local events include the Chamber of Commerce hosted Main Cruise Car Show, Lassen County Fair, Rodeo and Livestock Auction, Bike Challenge, movies, Susanville Symphony Society performances, local high school and college athletics, Saturday Farmers Market in uptown Susanville, Chamber of Commerce mixers, golfing, boating at Lake Almanor, Eagle Lake and Antelope Lake, fishing, hunting, skiing at Coppervale Ski Hill or at resorts outside Reno and Tahoe, Lassen Land & Trails Trust Farm to Table events, Cattlemen and Cattlewomen Taste of Beef-Sip of Wine; Annual Chili Cookoff, Rails to Trails Festival and hand car races, BBQ Cookoff, Margarita Fest, Uptown Susanville Magical Country Christmas & Tree Lighting in conjunction with the Chocolate Festival, the Uptown Wine Walk, and much more.
