Sophia Wages
Vice President
Sophia Wages has worked at the Lassen County Office of Education for over 40 years as a Media Specialist and Graphic Artist. She also holds a Vocational Teaching Credential in Graphic Arts. Mrs. Wages is a life-long resident of Lassen County and is very proud that she and her husband Jim, as well as their two daughters are graduates of Lassen Community College.
Sophia has been involved with many community organizations over the years and currently represents Trustee Area 1 on the Lassen College Board. She serves as the Red Cross Disaster Manager for Lassen County, represents the NORTEC Board as the Representative for Labor, and is the CSEA Regional Representative for Lassen, Plumas, and Modoc counties. Mrs. Wages has also served as the President of the Lassen County Federal Credit Union Board for the past 15 years.
Sophia has served on the Lassen College Foundation Board since the early 1980s and is especially proud of the Foundation’s endeavor to avail all graduating high school students, within our service area, the opportunity to attend Lassen Community College through our scholarship application process.
Mrs. Wages stresses the importance of having a community college locally and encourages all individuals to attend. The Foundation is pleased to have provided well-over $500,000 in scholarships and we look forward to assisting many more!
