NURS 50 – Nurse Role Transition

This course introduces the Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse to all aspects of a professional role transition to the field of Registered Nursing. This transition course expands upon knowledge and skills learned in a vocational/practical nursing education program. Focus is placed on the acquisition and utilization of the nursing process as a basis for care. Concepts related to basic nursing skills, clinical reasoning, pharmacology, cultural sensitivity, and role expectations are emphasized. Students must pass dosage calculation test with 100%. Students must receive at least 75% on their final as well as in the course to remain in the nursing program. Uniform and lab fees of $300 will be collected at registration.
