Art-173 Printmaking for Older Adults

An introduction to traditional and contemporary approaches to intaglio (etching), relief (woodcut and linocut), serigraphy (silkscreen) and monoprint printmaking. Both personal and commercial design will be explored. As well as a variety of subject matter and artists. Technical, historical, aesthetic and cultural points of view will be considered. This course is designed to assist older adults in identifying and examining personal interests and aptitudes in printmaking and to enhance mental acuity, fine motor skills, and creativity as well as the appreciation of the visual arts.
