Maria G. Nye

Maria G. Nye has 34 years’ experience working in the banking field; she currently works as a bank Branch Manager and has resided in Susanville, California for a little over six years. She is a member of the Susanville Sunrise Rotary, Lassen Senior Center Board, Susanville Assembly of God Church, and a volunteer on the Lassen County Loan Committee.
Born and raised in Southern California, Maria is the oldest of seven children. Her father is a college professor/business owner and her mother is a nurturing and loving homemaker.
Maria holds Bachelor and Master Degree in Business Administration. She grew up in a home where higher education was highly valued and of paramount importance. Maria places a high value on being able to support a student’s opportunity to pursue their educational dreams.
The Foundation is instrumental in providing scholarships to assist students and she is honored to be part of this process. She also feels that as a nation we must place the highest value in educating our children and on the retention/development of talented educators. “We cannot remain competitive in a global market if we do not preserve and improve our educational system”.
