Education Plan

This will help you to plan what courses you need to take to complete your goal; whether it is an A.A., A.S., certificate program, or transfer credits. You will look ahead and chart your classes for the next two years. Each semester we will adjust this plan according to what classes are offered that meet your needs.

Career Goals

This is an opportunity to look ahead to careers, financial security in a job and making the right career choices. Lassen Community College has an outstanding Career Counseling Center with a variety of programs that will help you assess where your interests are and options for applying them.

Transfer Information

Visits to other college campuses are coordinated with the Lassen Community College Transfer Center.

Resources

The staff is a terrific resource for campus and community information. A newsletter is sent to all EOP&S students to keep you informed about events and programs of interest to you.

Tutoring

Peer tutoring is available to all students who need help with academic subjects. The service is free of charge and may be requested at any time during the semester. An early sign-up is recommended! Qualified students can earn extra money by tutoring. See and EOP&S staff person for more information.

Learning Assistance

Lassen Community College offers a variety of study skill courses to help you reach the academic level necessary to succeed in college. Each student is requested to take a Placement Test to determine what skills classes would be beneficial to help each person develop at their own rate. Basic skill classes are available to help you in areas you feel insecure about or areas you did not do well in when attending high school. We can help.

Counseling & Guidance 51 Master Student - You Create it All

This is the Counseling and Guidance 51 class which is open to any student attending Lassen Community College. This is a class for both the new student and the returning student who wants to take charge of their life and their goals. It gives each student an opportunity to develop to their fullest with the necessary tools; to acquire good study skills, how to beat "test anxiety", career planning, budget time and money, and getting to know exactly who you are. Retention is a key component for the class; individual counseling is available.

There are a variety of child care programs that may meet your needs while you are in school. (On/off campus)

Counseling

Academic, personal, and career counseling are available to all EOP&S students.

Book Grants & Services EOP&S

Provides students with a Book Voucher redeemable for "books and supplies" at the College bookstore. Book services are available to EOP&S students for "books only" redeemable at the College bookstore.

EOP&S Grants

Money for educational costs based on financial need.

Technician

Each student meets with the technician who explains the purpose of EOP&S; keeps an updated file on each student to monitor their academic progress; and provides a variety of services aimed at helping students succeed toward their educational goals.

Monitoring EOP&S

Provides students with a progress report once a semester. This is to help monitor the students academic achievement midway through the semester. If counseling or tutoring is needed at this time we can then better serve the students.

C.A.R.E. Club

A student organization that provides activities and opportunities for student involvement on campus and in the community.
