Sometimes child care can be a major stumbling block for mothers or fathers trying to further their education. We would like to help you find professional child care and in turn help you to finance the child care.

Below you will find a variety of child care programs. Hopefully, one will meet your needs. Take time to discuss this with the EOP&S staff.

EOP&S We can provide off-campus child care based on need.

C.A.R.E.

(Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education) Funds are available for child care off-campus through this program. Please see the CARE Program Assistant for more information. Services provided include:

  • Child Care Reimbursements
  • Support Services
  • Academic and Career Advising
  • Transportation
  • Workshops

Lassen Child and Family Resources

This is a state funded child care program that has information regarding licensed providers, car seat rentals, toy lending, library, and child abuse prevention information. Please call (530) 257-9781 or (530) 257-6733.

Purpose of the C.A.R.E. Program

The purpose of the Lassen Community College CARE Program is to provide financial, educational, and emotional assistance and support to Cal-Works single heads of households who are EOP&S eligible students. This extra assistance is available to remove barriers that hinder academic success and enable these students to obtain vocational and educational skills that will allow them to access meaningful employment.

How to quality for the C.A.R.E. Program

  • Student must be eligible for the EOP&S Program
  • Student must be on Cal-Works for at least one day, as a single head-of-household
  • Student must have at least on child under the age of fourteen
  • Student must be enrolled in a full-term educational program
  • Student's application for the C.A.R.E. Program must be approved by the C.A.R.E. Program Assistant
