Financial Aid There is a substantial amount of financial aid available for students. Those who apply by the 30th of June and have the greatest need will be funded first. "What! It's after the 30th of June" - then apply as soon as possible! Your application will still be considered, just get busy and complete the Federal Financial Aid form. Application processing takes about three to six weeks. Information and applications are available in the Financial Aid Office. If you have any questions about filling out the application, please feel free to call the Financial Aid Office at 257-6181 ext. 8940 or 251-8849. Financial Aid Student Requests Before obtaining financial aid, students with a high school diploma or equivalent will be required by federal law to pass a Lassen Community College test demonstrating their ability to benefit from college instruction. Students wishing clarification should consult a Lassen Community College Counselor or the Financial Aid Office. Enrollment Payment If you apply for Financial Aid and demonstrate financial need, you may be eligible for the Board of Governors Waiver; or if you complete the BOGW application and are determined eligible, your enrollment fee is paid by the State. BOGW applications are available in the Financial Aid Office or EOP&S office located in the Student Services Building. Attention BOGW (Board of Governers Fee Waiver) Students Health fee charges for all students: Beginning Spring 2006 students will be paying for their health fee. Students enrolled on or after Friday, January 6, will pay a health fee of $7.50 for full time students and $5.00 for part time students. This fee will no longer be waived for students who are eligible for the fee waiver. Please feel free to contact Student Financial Aid if you have any questions. In an attempt to provide comprehensive student support programs which assures access to Lassen Community College, financial assistance is available. All Financial Aid at Lassen is administered in accordance with Federal and State policies. It is our belief that the family has the responsibility for assisting the student in meeting educational costs and financial assistance is available to fill the gap between the family and/or student's contributions and the student's educational costs. The Financial Aid Office has an open door policy and financial aid packets are available for all students. Although an appointment is not required, it is recommended that you let us know you will be visiting. Our office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, throughout the year.
