7 Step Enrollment Process for New Students

Step 1: Complete an application for Admission

  1. You may come to the Admissions and Records Office to pick up an application or call (530)251-8808 and Lassen College

Step 2: Contact the Assessment office

  1. The office can be reached at (530) 257-6181 extension 8009
  2. Schedule a placement test in Writing, English and Math. Counselors use this information to recommend appropriate classes
  3. Placement levels are established by either:
    1. Taking the Basic Skills Assessment or Lassen College’s Placement tests in writing, reading and/or math
    2. Having your Math coursework or test scores from other college(s)

Step 3: Send Official Transcripts

  1. Immediately contact all of the college(s) you have previously attended and request that they mail your transcripts to Lassen College Admissions & Records P.O. Box 3000 Susanville, CA 96130
  2. Allow six weeks for delivery. You may want to ask for a student copy for yourself
  3. Confirm their arrival by calling 251-8808

Step 4: Contact the Counseling Office

  1. The office can be reached at (530) 251-8842 for an appointment

Step 5: Register for Classes

  1. Summer registration begins on April 30
  2. Stop by the Admissions & Records office in the Student Services building to register for classes

Step 6: Stop by the Bookstore

  1. Purchase your books
  2. Visit other areas on campus to familiarize yourself with the services available at Lassen College:
    1. Library
    2. Tutoring Center
    3. Gym
    4. Cafeteria
    5. Child Development Center
  3. Locate your scheduled classrooms

Step 7: Attend Classes

  1. If you miss the first day of class the instructor may remove your name from the class roster
  2. It is the student’s responsibility to drop classes
  3. See the class schedule for the refund policy
