Disabled Student Programs and Services is a mandated, state-funded program which assists students who have any qualifying type of disabling condition. Services are available for students who have mobility, visual, hearing, speech, brain injury, psychological, and other disabilities. These services assist students in obtaining their educational, vocational, and employment goals. Lassen Community College employs an open enrollment concept designed to provide equal access to all programs, facilities, and activities.

Lassen Community College, in compliance with Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972 Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, age, marital status, or non-disqualifying disability in any policies, procedures or practices.

Special classes and services are offered for students with physical, visual, and learning disabilities on an on-going basis. Psycho-educational diagnostic testing is also available for students with possible learning disabilities or acquired brain injuries. Q. If I am registered as a Disabled Student, will that show up on my transcripts?
A. No. There will be no mention of your disability on any school records.

Q. Am I required to register with DSP&S just because I have a disability?
A. No. The only time you are required to register with DSP&S is if you are requesting a service or services from this office.

Q. How much does it cost to receive services from your office?
A. Nothing. There is no cost for any of the services provided by our office.

Q. What kinds of services does your office provide?
A. The kinds of services we provide depend on the nature and severity of each individual's disability. To find out what kinds of services you may qualify for please call our office and make an appointment for an intake interview.
