Campus Life

Child Development Center

The Lassen Community College Child Development Center (CDC) is committed to providing the highest quality of early childhood education services to our children and families through developmentally appropriate infant, toddler and preschool programs.  All of our teachers possess Associate Degrees in Early Childhood Education and we run in a state-of-the-art facility.  Our program is centered on the highest standards of research-based practices.

Children have many opportunities throughout the day to choose the activities which interest them.  There is a balance between child-selected and teacher-presented activities.  We encourage parents to be partners with us in the care and development of their children.  Parents are the first and most important teacher in their child's life.

We operate a Child Development Laboratory on campus where our students observe and participate with the children regularly and are an integral part of the program.

Who Can Attend?

The CDC accepts children from 8 weeks through 5 years of age.  Students and community members are welcome; however, our students have priority.  The CDC primarily accepts low-income families.  We also have a limited number of private pay slots available.

Our preschool program operates from 7:45am to 4:30pm and our infant and toddler programs operate from 7:45am to 3:30pm.  We run based off of the Lassen Community College academic calendar.
