Q: What features are on the test?
A: The ACT COMPASS test system is a computerized, multiple choice placement test in Math, Reading, and Writing.

Q: When can I take the test?
A: The test may be taken by appointment only.  Call 530.251.8833 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00AM to 4:30PM to make an appointment.   

Q: What should I bring to the test?
A: Your photo I.D. and LCC Student I.D. number. An “approved” calculator is permitted. 

Q: Where is the test held?
At the Assessment Center: VT-103 in the Student Services Building.

Q: How long will the test last?
A: This is a self-paced test, the average time is approximately 1.5 - 2.00 hours.

Q: What rules must be observed during the test?
A: No cell phones, only the use of an approved calculator.   

Q: When will I get my test results?
A: Immediately - at the conclusion of the test.    

Q: What do I do after I get my test results?
A: Go to counseling to make an orientation appointment and meet with a counselor.

Q: What if I need special accommodations during the test?
A: Notify the test administrator/proctor when making your test appointment.    

Q: May I repeat the test?
A: Yes, under certain circumstances.

Discuss with the test administrator and/or counselor.
