Commitment to Diversity

Lassen College will reflect the diversity of our community, state, nation, and global society by fostering an inclusive atmosphere for individuals regardless of ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, religion, or disability. The college will celebrate and embrace diversity as a way to promote respect and enhance academic experiences, making Lassen College a welcoming place to learn and grow while meeting the needs of a diverse population.

The Diversity Committee includes members of the faculty, student body, staff and community. It convenes frequently to discuss ways in which to incorporate topics of diversity into student life and the classroom at Lassen College.

Lassen Community College celebrates diversity in learning and culture. It also embraces diversity in lifestyles and learning practices.

The committee’s goals are to enrich classroom activities with outcomes that include an increased awareness and appreciation of diversity concepts by students.
